Since my earliest memories, I have been around seamstresses. I learned quilting and clothing-making from my grandmother and mother.
After moving North in the mid 80’s, my skills expanded to working with fur, beads, and other materials for making parka’s, mitts, and jewelry. As my family grew the need to make new parkas and mitts to fit my growing daughter and grandson. This allowed me to keep my hands in sewing despite a busy career.
Now that I’ve entered retirement, I finally have time to return to arts and crafts as well as networking with other NWT artists, continuing my learning and practicing new skills.
