My enthusiasm towards traditional beading crafts came from my grandmother “Martina’s” creations. Despite Martina having no crafting experience, these profoundly respected Gwich’in sewers taught her their sewing techniques.
As a young child I grew up watching my grandma creating all sorts of beaded crafts with furs, moose-hide, and putting together all sorts of patterns. Watching my grandmother was such an inspiration and now I’ve begun to start my own journey in the sewing industry. I enjoy embroidery, beaded crafts, and caribou tufting.
